Below are Spring flyers for current and upcoming groups at Clarity Counseling.  All groups are virtual at this time, however Clarity is in the process of transitioning some groups back to in-person.  For more information, please call 571-318-9141 or email to speak with our intake coordinator about registering for group(s)

VIRTUAL 12 Week DBT Skills Group is on Thursday's at 3:30 - 5pm (16 - 21 yrs) and 5 - 6:30 (22yrs and older) .  We are enrolling now for our two new groups, starting the end of April over ZOOM

Alicia Ayvas, LCSW was trained in DBT in 2009 at Columbia University and is overseeing the Thursday night group that will be run by Katie Bowler, LCSW. The group is energetic, educational, and targets all 4 modules in DBT and will leave clients with a comprehensive binder of all of the skills learned throughout the group.

Issues: Eating Disorders / Trauma / Self Harm / Depression /Anxiety / OCD
Gender: All
Age: These groups are for ages 16yrs +.  
Where: From the comfort of your own home (we will be using ZOOM as the virtual platform)

When: Thursday's at 3:30 - 5:00 (16 - 21 year old's) and  5:00 - 6:30pm (22 +)
Cost: $80 per group (members must commit to all 12 sessions with consent for group leader to communicate with primary therapist)

Our world has been flipped upside down over the last few months and Clarity Counseling hopes to provide more support to our teens!

This group will provide teens with skills to manage stress and anxiety and build resilience.  We also will process together the changes to come this school year.  Each week, we will learn new coping skills inspired by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and talk about how to use the skills in everyday life.  


Issues: Transitions, Anxiety, Worry, Stress, Depression, Coping during COVID-19, Virtual School

Age:  13 - 17yrs
Where: From the comfort of your own home   (We will be using ZOOM as the virtual platform)

When: This group will meet for 8 weeks every Wednesday at 5:00pm - 6:00pm



The group has a fee of $60 per group and receipts are provided to submit to insurance.




Currently Running

The purpose of this new group is to provide a safe space to process events during the week where we could have used skills to prevent problem behaviors or we acted on action urges.  The group will provide feedback to other members on how they could have used skills and more practical uses for the skills.


Group members must have previously learned DBT skills from the DBT Skills Group at Clarity or at another treatment center/provider.  Please call or email to sign up for this ongoing group starting Wednesday, January 6th at 6-7pm on Zoom.  The group will be $60 per session with a receipt for reimbursement.

Eating Disorder Recovery Process Group(s) on Saturday at 11am-12pm (13 - 17 years old) and 12pm - 1pm (18+)


Start Date is April 24th

The Eating Disorder Recovery Process Group(s) is a virtual group due to COVID-19 and will transition to in-person in the future months at our Gainesville location.  This group is meant for individuals in recovery from an eating disorder. This is a process group, and will be using skills from ACT, CBT, and DBT.  Group members are encouraged to have a primary therapist but it is not required to join the group.  The group is $60 per session and we ask that members commit for 6 weeks at at time.  That said, by paying prior to the start date, the fee for the 6 sessions is $300, saving $60 when paid in advance.  Receipts are provided for reimbursement to submit to the insurance company.


Issues: Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, OSFED, EDNOS
Gender: All
Age: 13-17 for the 11am group and 18+ for the 12pm group

Where: From the comfort of your own home (we will be using ZOOM as the virtual platform)

When: Saturday's at 11am - 12pm for the adolescent group and 12pm - 1pm for the adult group


The group has a fee of $60 per session and receipts are provided to submit to insurance.  We ask that group members commit for 6 weeks at a time. By paying prior to your start date, the fee for the 6 sessions is $300 (saving $60 when paid in advance).


FREE Zoom Parent Support  


This group is intended to provide a safe space for parents to connect with others to freely process their role in the recovery process.  Currently we have a mix of parents where clients are stepping down from RTC, others with children in HLOC, and OP.  The intent is provide support to parents who are on the front lines and to provide support during these very challenging times.

ZOOM Group For Parents and Supports

Topic: DBT What is it and how can we use it during these uncertain times?

This NEW monthly meeting is meant to help bridge the gap in treatment by providing information and coaching to parents and supports.  June's topic will focus on DBT and provide an overview of the 12-week DBT skills group offered here at Clarity.  This is a great way for parents and supports to learn and understand what the upcoming DBT skills groups will be focusing on.


Alicia Ayvas, LCSW, CEDS-S, Clarity's Founder and Executive Director, is excited to offer this new monthly meeting, and hopes to focus on different topics each month for education, coaching and support.
